Hi, I’m Jiemin Lin (林玠珉).
I study scalable and reliable network systems across backbone, data center, and cloud-edge environments.
I build AI backends for RAG and agents, and deploy and quantize computer vision and large language models.
I am also a trained first aider.
I am currently an AI backend engineer at ByteDance. Previously, I worked at China Telecom Cloud Computing Corporation on AI backend systems and infrastructure.
I have more than three years of experience in retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, and deploying and operating production AI systems. My work also includes GPU cluster management, as well as the deployment and quantization of AI models across speech, computer vision, and large language model (LLM) applications.
I received my M.S. degree from Soochow University under the supervision of Prof. Gangxiang Shen. My academic training spans electronic engineering, information engineering, and network communications.
I am also a certified first-aid provider accredited by both the Red Cross and the American Heart Association (AHA).

Research Interests
My research interests mainly span network optimization across backbone, data center, and cloud-edge networks, as well as blocking theory for switching networks, including set-theoretic foundations for non-blocking phenomena and queueing-theoretic analysis for blocking phenomena.
Data Center Networks
My work focuses on AI-driven network architectures that support diverse services such as unicast, multicast, and co-flow. I have designed optical-circuit-switching-based architectures and algorithms for efficient service deployment.
Backbone Networks
I study blocking theory for switching networks and next-generation switching elements. My work includes strictly non-blocking conditions, blocking probability models, and Optical Cross-Connect (OXC) designs.
Cloud-Edge Networks
I focus on survivability and resilience in MEC scenarios, including integer linear programming models and heuristic algorithms for access-point and link protection.
