About
Hi 👋, I’m Jiemin Lin (林玠珉), a backend developer at China Telecom Cloud Computing Corporation. I received my M.S. degree from Soochow University, where I was supervised by Prof. Gangxiang Shen. My research background spans electronic engineering, information engineering, and network communications. I focus on optimizing network performance across backbone networks, datacenter networks, and cloud–edge networks. I am also a certified basic first-aid provider accredited by the Red Cross and the American Heart Association (AHA).

Research Interests
My research interests mainly span two areas: network optimization, covering both backbone networks and data center networks, and blocking theory, including set-theoretic foundations for non-blocking networks and queueing-theoretic analysis for blocking networks.
Data Center Networks
In the area of data center networks, my work focuses on AI-driven network architectures. These environments must support diverse service types such as unicast, multicast, and co-flow. I have designed several optical-circuit-switching–based data center network architectures and developed corresponding algorithms to enable efficient deployment of each type of service.
Backbone Networks
My research on backbone networks focuses on two themes: the blocking theory of switching networks and the design of next-generation switching elements. I have derived strictly non-blocking conditions as well as analytical models for blocking probabilities across various optical switching architectures. In addition, I have designed several Optical Cross-Connect (OXC) architectures to support future backbone networks.
Cloud-Edge Networks
In cloud–edge networks, I focus on survivability and resilience. For example, I have formulated integer linear programming (ILP) models for service protection in Mobile/Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) scenarios, and designed heuristic algorithms for access-point and link protection in MEC scenarios.
